Bright, dark red. Reticent aromas of dark berries, mocha and underbrush, plus hints of coffee and chocolate; aeration brought some evolved suggestions of plum and cinders. Silky and plush, conveying moderate sweetness but limited personality to its plum, dark fruit and licorice flavors. In fact, this comes across as a bit monolithic. Finishes with good tannic grip and plummy length but could use a bit more verve. This possesses considerable baby fat but its tannins turn a bit dustier with air and I can't see it getting better with more time in bottle. (13% alcohol)
