Punteggio 83/100 · Da bere 2019, Neal Martin, Apr 2019

The 1999 La Dominique was showing some oxidation on the nose. Eventually a representative bottle was found but it still lacks vigour and certainly definition on the nose and on the palate. The 1999 is medium-bodied and very static, in a word, it just feels boring. Tasted at the vertical tasting at La Dominique.

Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2002-2010, Robert Parker, Apr 2002

This is a sexy, evolved, lush La Dominique. It is filled with notes of ripe cherries, melted licorice, tobacco smoke, and herbs. This delicious, medium-bodied, attractively fleshy, succulently-styled St.-Emilion is not going to make old bones as it does not possess the concentration of either the 1998 or 2000. Enjoy it over the next 7-8 years.

Tobacco, meat and plum aromas follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with lots of new oak and a medium finish. Needs a bit of time to come together. Best after 2002. 4,415 cases made. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2002
