Note di degustazione
A dark plum color is accompanied by an exotic nose of roasted espresso beans, sweet cherry jam, and lavish toasty oak. Soft, round, and medium-bodied, with attractive fruit, this wine pushes the oak to its limit, but there is no doubting its luscious fruit and seductive, open-knit style. Drink it over the next 8-9 years.

Good berry and earth character, but a bit lean on the finish. Medium-bodied, with vanilla, chocolate and berry flavors. Slightly dry finish. Too much wood? Not as good as when tasted from barrel. Best after 2000. -James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2000

Red-ruby color. Port-like aromas of kirsch, chocolate, damp earth and fresh herbs. Concentrated, thick and large-scaled, but with good supporting acidity. Lots of material here. The tannins coat the entire mouth. My sample showed distinct oxidation notes, but this is often the case when samples drawn from minimally sulfured wines are not consumed within hours.
