Deep garnet-brown. Truffle, dark chocolate and demerara sugar. Given the development on the nose, the palate gives good depth of currants, spice and chocolate flavour, supported by quite fine tannins. (TJ)

102g/l RS, 4.6g/l TA. Meaty, chocolate, blackberries, cherries, spices and a hint of oakiness with slightly drying tannins on the finish. (RH)
Deep, vibrant crimson with a little evolution at the rim. Vigorous, hot nose with even some raisins plus a slight savoury note on the back palate. Very sweet palate attack with some dry tannins, and lots of alcohol, on the finish. A little hole in the middle mars it but this is good. (JR)
This impressive vintage port, from a firm that has not been numbered among the great port houses of the last century, may turn out to be the most impressive wine from Croft in decades. The healthy purple/black color is followed by copious aromas of licorice, chocolate, and over-ripe black fruits. Full-bodied and unctuously-textured, with layers of juicy, succulent, full-throttle fruit, glycerin, high alcohol, and powerful tannin, this large-scaled, youthful vintage port will benefit from 7-10 years of cellaring.
