Punteggio 97/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound, May 2011

(with thanks to Dr. Reed Day). This continues to validate the superb potential that it displayed from cask with its fantastically complex nose that reveals a simply marvelous breadth of aromas, from white flower to honeysuckle to ripe orchard notes to spice elements that combine to deliver genuinely stunning depth. The palate impact does justice to the nose with equally superb depth and remarkable density on the beautifully delineated and mineral-driven flavors blessed with buckets of sap that coats and stains the palate on the explosive and hugely long finish. Another brilliant Ramonet Montrachet in a long line of them. While this could be drunk now with pleasure, it's still very clearly on the way up and I would advise waiting at least another 2 to 5 years. Note that one other recent bottle displayed noticeable but not dominant premox.

Punteggio 91-94/100 · Da bere 2005-2014, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2003

Ramonet’s toasted oak-scented 2001 Montrachet is light to medium-bodied, broad, pure, deep, and focused. Its flavor profile is composed of earth, gravel, almonds, hazelnuts, quartz, and limestone. Youthfully lean, it will most certainly gain weight during elevage. Projected maturity: 2005-2014. Importer: Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines Company, New York, NY; tel; (212) 572-7725
