The 2023 Pinot Noir Home Vineyard is delicately built and laden with tension. Fine, tea-leaf-like tannins weave through a core of red berry fruit, giving the wine a tactile, detailed structure. Forty percent whole clusters add subtle spice and a gentle herbal lift, heightening the subtle grip that tightens across the palate like a belt. The 2023 Pinot Noir Home Vineyard is lifted, vibrant and pure on the nose, with a red-fruited, high-toned bouquet supplemented by a subtle chalky, floral backdrop. The palate packs more of a punch than the bouquet suggests, holding a surprisingly concentrated, muscular frame that carries through the burly yet lifted finish that regenerates rich fennel and black licorice aromas within a tenacious yet measured tannin profile. It's a particularly strong candidate for a long life in the cellar.
