Coming from a site on the western bench in Oakville close to Vine Hill Ranch, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon M Bar Ranch Vineyard offers red and black fruits, spice, loamy earth, and savory nuances. It's full-bodied, with a pure, layered mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. This very complex, satisfying effort has plenty of upfront appeal as well as the ability to evolve for 15-20 years. There are 311 cases produced. Drink 2025-2045.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon M-Bar Ranch looks to be the best vintage yet under the Rivers-Marie label. The blueberries and black cherries on the nose exhibit lovely purity of fruit, while the full-bodied palate is richly concentrated and supported by supple tannins, then ends long and velvety.
