Note di degustazione
The 1983 d'Issan has quite a pale appearance for what was a reputed Margaux vintage. The palate offers light red cherry, undergrowth and sandalwood aromas that suggest it has become rather fatigued in recent years. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannin; grippy in the mouth though it is pinched on the finish, powdered cocoa and tobacco lingering on the aftertaste. I would have expected a little more considering the vintage. Tasted at the d’Issan vertical held at the property.

This wine has reached full maturity, as evidenced by the amber edge to its medium dark ruby/garnet color. The nose offers up copious quantities of sweet earth, red and black currant fruit, cedar, and herbs. This is a plump, atypically fleshy style of d'Issan, that is nicely concentrated, attractive, round, and ideal for current drinking. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted 3/95
