Punteggio 97/100 · Da bere 2029-2049, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, May 2026

More austere than Le Méal yet equally profound and perfumed, the 2024 Ermitage l'Ermite Blanc is the highlight in Chapoutier’s white wine range this year. Wafting from the glass with aromas of white flowers, apricot, pear, white peach, toasted nuts and beeswax, it’s full-bodied, layered and satiny, built around a multidimensional core of fruit framed by racy acidity and a well-judged, gastronomic bitterness that leads to a long, saline and ethereal finish. Combining power with vibrancy, it stands as a textbook expression of the cuvée. It will benefit from time in the cellar to fully express its potential.

Punteggio 100/100 · Da bere 2030-2050, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2026

Coming from a great lieu-dit at the top of the appellation with vines just east of the Chapelle that's harvested three weeks after the Marsanne on Le Méal (the warmest site in Hermitage), the 2024 Ermitage L'Ermite Blanc offers sensational aromatics of ripe orchard fruits, blanched almond, croissant, crushed stone, and white flowers. It's rich, full-bodied, has beautiful concentration, integrated acidity, and a blockbuster finish. Dense and incredibly concentrated, it's just an incredible, singular expression of this variety and terroir. Hide bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades. Drink 2030-2050.

The highly complex 2024 Ermitage Blanc L'Ermite comes forward with pronounced flintstone, lemon peel, dried chamomile, white flowers and a measured mineral dusting of stone. Full-bodied and concentrated yet remarkably crisp and agile, the 2024 is a thrilling white L'Ermite, finishing its trajectory with impressive definition and persistence on the elongated finale. A quiet radiance lingers long after the glass is lowered.
