AP number 37 24. Deep in citrus and apricot fruit and yet also a lightly savoury note – smokiness and mushrooms. Really complex aromas. Deep, honeyed apricots. Gorgeous, seductive, rich and so fresh. Perfect harmony and endlessly long. (JH)
The 2022 Riesling Bernkasteler Doctor Spätlese hints at white peach and tangerine on the nose. The palate adds a tropical frisson of passion fruit to ripe white peach compote, achieving a feeling of supreme, absolute ripeness. It stays in the pale, fresh, yellow spectrum of fruit, with just a highlight of pink grapefruit flesh. All here is calm, brilliant, pure and precise, possessing an absolute inner balance that calmly yet steadily pushes everything forward. Simply exquisite and so pure.
