The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is terrific, and it's an appellation release in 2022 that's well worth your time and money. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Cabernet Franc, it delivers perfumed, ripe blue fruits, violets, sappy herbs, and a touch of leather in its medium to full-bodied, forward, juicy, front end-loaded style. It's going to keep for 8-10 years, but there's no need to hold off.
Already bottled at the time I tasted it in February, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is a blend of two sites this year. Mixed red and black cherries are accented by hints of cedar and mint on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is slightly open-knit. Approachable and easy-to-drink, it's a fine introduction to the Tor lineup.
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon (Oakville) is a plush, racy wine. Blackberry, chocolate, cloves, licorice and espresso are front and center. The 2022 offers good initial fruit but loses some persistence on the mid-palate and finish. This is attractive, but it also feels just a touch hollow.
