Note di degustazione
The 2019 Clos du Chêne Vert Monopole has purity, freshness and precision. It is not as upright as it was more than a year ago when last tasted, as it has since opened up, broadened and lost its youthful rawness. That said, it remains focused and fresh, with an abundance of chalky tannins that coat the mouth. Expect florals, black cherry and integrated oak-derived mocha and spice flavors that remain on the long, lithe finish.

The 2019 Clos du Chêne Vert Monopole is a linear, upright, sit up straight in class type of Cabernet Franc. While reductive at this stage, there's plenty of concentration and sinew here. Expect florals, black cherry and a linear, athletic finish. Needs time for its linearity to ease and its flower to blossom. Long length.
The 2019 Chinon Clos du Chene Vert, Monopole has a nose that you sniff and just want to get deeper into the wine, as if you're at the top of a 10-meter diving board (ha! like I've ever been at the top of a 10-meter diving board. No, thank you!) and you're being dragged into the depths of the pool below. It's dark and mysterious and intense at this early stage, but not quite ready to reveal itself. Work at it and there are the vanillins of oak barrel aging alongside dark, spiced black cherries. There's a reassuring sense of weight and balance, and a satisfying textural coating of fine, cocoa-like tannins, while the acidity gives the impression that this is a wine that knows what it is and where it's going. And it's going long and it's going far.
