Pale brick-garnet. Complex, dried red fruit, balsamic-vinegar touches, spice, fresh earth and dark chocolate that's showing early development. Firm, chalky tannins that are still fairly primary, with enough density of palate flavour to carry them. Long. (TJ)

The 2013 Barolo Rocche Dell'Annunziata is another alluring wine from Trediberri. Pliant, rich and totally seductive, the 2013 hits all the right notes. The interplay of fruit, aromatics and structure is simply captivating. Succulent dark cherry, mint, anise, underbrush and tobacco are all finely knit in this pretty midweight Barolo.
La Morra. Sweet, come-hither nose. Easy. Tannins much more compensated for by fruit than in many others in this line-up. Very slightly simple. (JR)
La Morra. 13 days of alcoholic fermentation followed by 14 days on the skins. Aged for 24 months in new 15-hl casks. Lustrous ruby with orange tinges. Very deep, spicy and almost mysterious nose. Monumental coating tannins filling out succulent fruit. Very long and animating. (WS)
