Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2016-2023, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Jun 2016

The 2013 Les Chalasses Vieilles Vignes is pure Chardonnay from the Chalasses vineyard, which was planted in 1902 on grey marl soils and usually gives very low natural yields. As all the whites, whole clusters were used for the pressing, fermentation was with indigenous yeasts and élevage lasted for two years in demi-muid. There are plenty of aniseed and fennel aromas, it feels concentrated and powerful, a little foursquare today. The aromas made me think of the Florine and when I looked it up, I noticed the soils are similar. The palate feels lighter than other vintages of this cuvée, light to medium-bodied with very good acidity and a tasty, almost salty finish.

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2025-2027, Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous

The 2013 Côtes du Jura Les Chalasses Vieilles Vignes shows notable development with characteristics of linden blossom, ripe yellow apple, hay and a touch of saffron. Round and smooth on the palate, it could benefit from a bit more acidity—something the 2018 tasted alongside has in abundance. Still, the 2013 is a delicious Les Chalasses Vieilles Vignes best enjoyed within the next two years.
