The 2015 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru is another grand cru that feels initially quite reduced, but it opens with aeration to reveal brambly red fruit, sous-bois , pine needles and a light sprinkling of spice. Some stem addition here? If so, it is very well used. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin and well-judged acidity, and more backward than Bruno Clair’s Clos-de-Bèze but showing wonderful structure and backbone toward the persistent finish. Pure class and breeding. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Tasted blind, this was a brilliant showing for Duroché's 2015 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru, a deep, brooding wine that unfurls in the glass with aromas of ripe red fruits, grilled meat, candied peel and peonies. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and layered, with a deep, powerful core, tangy balancing acids and a long, sappy finish.

(from a .25 ha parcel). Here there are no such issues as the pretty, pure and elegant nose displays notes of spice and floral hints on the ripe red currant, earth and cherry aromas. There is a really lovely mouth feel to the muscular, serious and powerful yet refined medium weight plus flavors that possess outstanding depth and length on the moderately structured and well-balanced finale. The 2015 Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru has dark berries, cola and Chinese tea on the nose: already a character-driven bouquet that takes you straight to the Clos de Bèze vineyard. The palate is very well balanced, refined with supple tannin. It feels lithe in the mouth with great precision and perfect salinity towards the precise finish, completing a beautiful and very natural wine that somehow feels comfortable in its own skin and assured of its destiny. This is a regal, sophisticated Clos de Bèze from Duroché that should give 20+ years of pleasure. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2019-2039
