The 2010 Moulin-à-Vent is fabulous. Vibrant, fresh and beautifully translucent, the 2010 is magical. Red berry fruit, mint, orange peel and spice all emerge from the glass, with lively acids and persistent beams of supporting tannin that give the wine its shape and overall sense of energy. Yields were 22 hectoliters per hectare, which is lower than average. The 2010 has a very bright future. This is a terrific showing.

A bit cool and jagged. Very light and clovey – not enough in the middle. Chewy. (JR)
Deep ruby. Smoky, spice-accented dark berry and cherry scents are brightened by subtle floral and mineral qualities. Shows very good precision on the palate, offering sweet black raspberry and cherry flavors and a touch of cola. Closes with very good energy and lift, leaving a tangy mineral note behind.
Vines from La Rochelle, Les Thorins and Les Caves. Traditional burgundian vinification with de-stemmed grapes. 40% ageing in oak barrels. Relatively dark ruby. Hint of cinnamon and rhubarb. Quite severe at the moment. Better when blended with a chilled portion. But the tannins are currently quite obtrusive. Drying finish. Wait! Quite raw at the moment. (JR)
