The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Lot C-91 offers a striking mix of strong varietal notes, tropical overtones and mountain structure. That's a pretty appealing combination in my book. This layered, distinctive Sauvignon Blanc has a lot to offer, starting with its notable textural depth and overall presence.

Sourced from the Trailside Vineyard in Rutherford (these Sauvignon Blanc vines were removed after this vintage), Heitz's 2023 Lot C-91 Blanc features notes of passion fruit and hints of jalapeño but also some riper pear and fig notes. Aged in a combination of barriques and larger-format oak (30% new) for 15 months with regular bâtonnage, the wine is medium- to full-bodied, ripe and well-rounded, showing impressive lushness, particularly on the finish.
