Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2023-2030, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Jun 2023

This is sitting snugly in its drinking window, retaining enough freshness to keep focus on blackberry fruits, tobacco leaf, mint. Succulent, with fine tannins. Exceptional, relatively cool vintage giving extended hang time, and enough concentration to take it through the years. It doesn't feel young, but it feels vibrant and alive, and is just so moreish. André Tchelistcheff's last vintage (before his later return). Entirely American oak barrels for ageing, no new oak.

Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 1992-2002, Robert Parker, Apr 1992

Last Tasted 3/92 This was an impressive showing for the 1973. At almost twenty years of age, it has matured gracefully. The color revealed a slight amber/orange rim, and the nose was full of ripe, sweet, black and red fruits intermingled with scents of oak and herbs. In the mouth, this silky, velvety textured wine exhibited fine richness, depth, and a smooth, lush, immensely enjoyable finish. Drink it over the next 5-10 years.
