Managed by UC Davis as a research facility, the Oakville Station Vineyard is surrounded on three sides by To Kalon and abuts Martha's Vineyard on the fourth. The result in the hands of winemakers Mark Porembski and Jennifer Williams is a full-bodied, plush, velvety wine with waves of classic cedar, cassis and cherries and layers of richness without excess weight. With its supple tannins, it's approachable already, but the inherent balance and lingering finish suggest that it should drink well for more than a decade.

Raised 22 months in 95% new French oak, this ripe, full-bodied, opulent 2019 offers textbook Cabernet notes of savory dark fruits, dried herbs, cedar pencil, and tobacco. This deep, rich, flawlessly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for two decades.
