100% whole bunch. Notably dark crimson. Rich and quite oaky. Very firm and tough and ambitious – very different from others form the same stable. Farmed by an older couple who are always in the vineyard. Japanese precision. Very dry and chewy. (JR)

Reductive on the nose, but the palate is more balanced. Even so, it’s slightly unbalanced with clunky oak and pretty harsh tannin. The violet floral scent is good though – needs time? (RH)
(the only one of these 2012s that was made entirely with whole clusters; picked at the end): Full, bright ruby. Musky, reduced aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, cassis, tobacco and smoky minerality, along with a wild meaty nuance. Rich and deep but with no shortage of energy to the thick flavors of dark berries, chocolate and earth. Finishes with big but fully ripe tannins and a solid spine of stony minerality. Very impressive if outsized premier cru.
