Medium red. Expressive, nuanced nose combines wild small red fruits, smoked meat, mocha, brown spices and underbrush. Rich, ripe, silky and broad; distinctly less fruity than the Murgers, conveying more soil-driven notes of earth and brown spice. Finishes firm, spicy and long, with an earthy perfume. This is nearly always a star of the cellar.

Floral and very bright red cherry, raspberry and pinot fruit aromas laced with notes of earth and spice introduce delicious, sappy and sweet full bodied flavors that possess excellent mid-palate concentration and fine length. This is very classy juice with an unusually opulent character for the vintage.
Medium red. Subdued but nuanced nose combines red fruits, herbs, smoke, dried flowers and underbrush. The sweetest on the palate to this point, with cherry and oak spice flavors offering good concentration. Finishes with some edgy oak tannins. A second barrel showed more delicate fruit and a sweeter finish.
Rich and sweet and round and full. Gorgeous! Lots of layers and all pleasure. A bit forward? But definitely Grand Cru status. (JR)
