Note di degustazione
The 2013 Pinot Noir Etzel Block comes from a northwest facing block planted in 1986 - 100% destemmed and including 60% whole cluster fruit, matured in 27% new oak. It has an attractive bouquet with lifted red cherry and red plum fruit, the stem addition neatly disguised. I appreciate the detail here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin: notes of tart cherries, strawberry and a subtle earthy tincture that leads to a structured, chalky-textured finish with a spring in its step. This is a fine Pinot Noir in the context of the growing season. 275 cases produced.

Vivid red. Powerful, spice-accented aromas of red and dark berries and pungent flowers, along with suggestions of underbrush, licorice and woodsmoke. Fresh and precise on the palate, offering gently sweet raspberry and mulberry flavors and a touch of candied rose. Shows very good tenacity and cut on the long, sappy finish, which is given shape by subtle tannins.
