The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortuna Vineyard shares an equally opaque purple color. The wine has intense cassis fruit, but not the complexity of its two predecessors, but the fruit character is super-rich, deep, ripe and persistent. This is a blockbuster in terms of fruit extract, but has yet to show the nuances that some of its siblings possessed. Nevertheless, it’s hard to resist given its suppleness, opulence and gorgeous purity and fruit. Drink it over the next 15 or more years.

Bold, juicy and explosive in the glass, 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortuna Vineyard offers a compelling mélange of exotic red fleshed stone fruits, flowers and sweet spices. The 2013 is a blend of Clone 4 and 337, but it’s the aromatics and silkiness of the 337 that seems to dominate, at least today. Drink this racy, succulent Cabernet Sauvignon over the next decade-plus. The 2013 is a real knock-out. Best of all, it remains reasonably priced within the standards of Napa Valley.
