Note di degustazione
'A classic and powerful vintage. Slightly less hot than 2000, but still a warm vintage. Early September rains brought freshness to the mix. Elegance combined with concentration and sheer focus has created a memorable vintage.' Poured from double magnum. Mature mid ruby with brick rim. The sweetness of aged Nebbiolo. Dried cherry, morocco leather and touches of smoked bacon turning into a complex amalgam of dried fruit. Hints of undergrowth but just the very beginning. Chalky, firm tannins gripping the elegant fruit. At its peak now, but will hold. (WS)

Poured from double magnum. Deep ruby. A little locked on the nose with hints of oak. Savoury cherry fruit and very fine tannins on the palate. Lots of concentration and yet undeniably elegant. (WS)
Extremely perfumed with roses, dark berries, ash, asphalt, and sliced plums. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a juicy, savory finish. Orange and lemon peel undertones. Gorgeous finish. Hard not to drink now. A beautiful wine. Drink or hold. But why wait?
The 2001 Barbaresco is gorgeous. Sweet balsamic notes open on the bouquet, followed intense, silky layers of fruit. The 2001 is subtle, classy and elegant from start to finish. Hints of early maturity appear in the aromatics, but the wine has more than enough fruit to support at least another decade of fine drinking. Tobacco, sweet herbs and licorice add the final notes of complexity. (AG)
