Note di degustazione
Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Echézeaux Grand Cru from Domaine du Clos Frantin has a very endearing, understated but deceptively complex bouquet with pure red berry fruit mingling with minerals, wonderful transparency and terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, impressive balance, a little oaky towards the finish but there is sufficient fruit to support that. I like the edginess here and energy, the focus better than many of its peers. This is a well-crafted Echézeaux from the Bichot team, albeit not as long-term as some of its peers.

Translucent cherry red. Scented red cherry fruit, some spice. Fragrant but a bit lean in the middle. Austere rather than hard. Could do with taking on a little more flesh to fill out the structure. (JH)
Informazioni sul produttore

Although the Bichot family settled in the region in 1350, Albert Bichot was founded in 1831 by Bernard Bichot. Today the producer is one of Burgundy’s most respected, making wines from both its own vineyards and with purchased fruit.
