2017 Nigl Grüner Veltliner Privat

From loess and crystalline rocks, Nigl's 2017 Senftenberger Grüner Veltliner Ried Pellingen 1ÖTW "Privat" is very intense and flinty on the nose, displaying deep and ripe fruit aromas with tropical scents intermixed with crystalline and crunchy granite aromas. Full-bodied, rich and powerful on the palate, this is a very rich and creamy-textured Veltliner with good tannin grip and an extract-rich finish. A massive but tensioned wine that needs some years to shine and stimulate. Tasted at Schloss Grafenegg, September 2018.
