Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2023-2030, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, Nov 2023

Very classic, the 2016 Grand Village offers up a fruity, fresh bouquet with elegant aromas of dark berries, spices, plums and flowers, all framed by menthol hints. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, fleshy and juicy, suave and sappy with structuring tannins and bright acids that bring an ethereal finish.

Deep glowing crimson. Very opulent nose. If you close your eyes and imagine you are tasting this in the cellar at Ch Lafleur in Pomerol, you will think you have the best bargain in Bordeaux. It's massively ripe and almost smells of melted butter (but then so do some Pomerols). It's not unappetising or heavy and finishes quite sprightly. It's much lighter than most serious Pomerols but is infinitely more interesting than any Bordeaux Supérieur I can readily think of. Real life on the end. VGV (JR)

The red 2016 Château Grand Village is also brilliant. Mostly Merlot, it offers a structured, powerful, almost backward vibe as well as terrific black cherry and blackberry fruits. Showing more earth, herbal notes, hints of graphite, and spice with time in the glass, it’s a serious Merlot that deserves 2-3 years of bottle age and will keep for 15+ years.

The 2016 Grand Village has a pretty bouquet of blackberry, bilberry and light iris aromas. The elegant palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and salty black fruit, and almost briny toward the finish, which displays impressive depth. This is a superb Grand Village, one of the best I have tasted.
