Aromas of fresh pineapple, white peach and raisins, with lots of white pepper and sweet spice. Concentrated rich fruit character rounding off with a wonderfully pure finish. FINE+RARE

The 2011 La Tour Blanche has a relatively austere bouquet for the estate. Despite coaxing, it does not quite get out of second gear. Scents of wax and white flowers emerge with time, but it needs more fruit. The palate is well balanced with a spicy entry and moderate depth, but it's linear and missing some bandwidth on the finish.
The 2011 La Tour Blanche has a strange, ephemeral, slightly "scalped" nose. Lighter and more tensile in style, this has good acidity, fresh and energetic. Touches of sour lemon and apricot toward the finish with lemongrass on the aftertaste, this is a fine Barsac that just needs to work on its aromatics. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting.
Tasted blind. Notably pale with a greenish tinge. Muted nose and very sweet, fine-cut marmalade on the palate. A hint of citrus. Already broachable. Quite fine-textured. (JR)
