2010 Stony Hill Chardonnay Napa Valley

Lot 19. Golden copper colour. Not much nose. Palate has real texture and then a light toffee note before the bone-dry finish. The attraction of this wine is historical and sentimental and also because it is so different from most California Chardonnays. There’s no oak signature and no sweetness. There’s even a slightly green vegetal note but nothing particularly mineral. (JR)
