Cru bourgeois supérieur. 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot. 12–14 months in barrel. Intense, lively cassis nose. Open and inviting. Some lead pencil on the palate and still that lovely black fruit. Light leafiness adds further freshness and some elegance. (JH)

The 2018 Beaumont suffered mildew and then drought, and as I suspected when I tasted this from barrel, that impacted the wine. It just lacks energy, feeling rather fatigued on the nose. The palate is marked by wood tannins and renders the finish bitter. I am usually a fan of this Haut-Médoc, but this is not a success.
Cru bourgeois supérieur. 47% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot. Amiable and fleshy with expressive fruit. Ripe and mouth-filling but not sweet. Tannins finely honed. On the limit of required freshness, a glow of alcohol evident on the finish. (JL)
48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot. Deep cherry red. Dark-fruited with a touch of cassis sweetness to the fruit and a light note of oak that is like dark chocolate. Firm but juicy on the palate, the tannins slightly thick with a suggestion of chocolate again in the texture but the fruit is still lively and fresh. Chewy, moreish finish. (JH)
