Note di degustazione
Deep magenta. Assertive, mineral- and exotic spice-accented black raspberry, bacon, olive paste and incense aromas pick up a potpourri quality with aeration. Sappy and energetic on the palate, offering chewy red and dark fruit liqueur, spicecake, vanilla and floral pastille flavors and a touch of smoky minerality. Finishes very long and smoky, with repeating floral and spice notes, well-knit tannins and strong tenacity. Made with 80% whole clusters.

Plenty of black fruits, woodsmoke, peppery herbs, and some mineral, iron-like nuances emerge from the 2019 Côte Rôtie La Rose Brune, a medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced, textured Côte Rôtie that shows the style of the vintage nicely. This is all Syrah that saw malolactic fermentation in barrel and 18 months in demi-muids, 30% new.
With a nose that features an enticing array of berries, florals and spices, the 2019 Cote Rotie La Rose Brune makes a strong initial impression. It follows up with impressive concentration, a rich, velvety feel on the palate and a long, plush finish. The fruit is from the lieu-dit of Côte Rozier, half destemmed and matured in 30% new oak—a mix of demi-muids and barriques. Nicely done.
100% Syrah, 70% destemmed. Aged for 20 months in 225- and 500-litre barrels, 30% new. Barrel sample. Tasted blind. Beautiful vibrant nose brimming with ripe blackberry, violet and graphite notes. Pure fruit-driven palate that has a good intensity of fruit alongside fresh acidity. The tannins are firm but fine and add structure to the ripe fruit-led core. Very appealing style. (AC)
