Note di degustazione
The 2016 Kirwan offers plenty of blackcurrant, blueberry and violet scents on the nose, hints of sous-bois and cigar humidor emerging with time. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite grippy and firm, sapid towards the finish, which feels backward and rather surly at the moment. Needs time, but it will be worth the wait. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

The 2016 Kirwan has an attractive, well-defined bouquet of blackberry, crushed violet and light crushed stone aromas that gently unfurls in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and a lightly spiced, peppery finish. I absolutely love this Margaux, and it should age with style. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting.
Tasted blind. Big and bold. A bit savoury and rustic. Dry, rather rasping tannins on the end. Rather simple greenish finish. (JR)
