Opaque violet. Deep-pitched black and blue fruit scents are complicated by suggestions of smoky minerals, exotic spices, pipe tobacco and violet, and a vanilla nuance emerges with air. Juicy, focused and pure, offering concentrated, spice-laced blackberry, cherry cola and fruitcake flavors that become more lively through the back half. The strikingly long finish delivers solid punch, and supple tannins fold smoothly into the wine's clinging dark fruit.
