1996 Kalin - Pinot Noir Cuvee DD

Medium dullish red. Aromas of old leather, duck sauce and lavender. Distinctly high-toned in the mouth, with flavors of strawberry, cinnamon and smoky earth tones. The wine's streaky acidity is ameliorated by serving it with food. Finishes impressively long, with dusty tannins. Idiosyncratic wine; a worthy follow-up to last year's 1994 but perhaps carrying a bit more volatile acidity.
