Punteggio 93-95/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015

A sensational vintage here, the 2010 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Marie Beurrier may be the finest vintage ever for this cuvée. Beautifully textured, full-bodied, thick and unctuous, it offers soaring notes of kirsch, crushed flowers, garrigue, melted licorice and spice. Softer and more rounded than the Celestins (and from when I tasted it last year), it's one sexy Châteauneuf du Pape that shows the class of this incredible vintage.

Vivid ruby. Deeply pitched black and blue fruit scents show very good clarity and complicating hints of fruitcake and candied flowers. Sappy and broad in the mouth, offering juicy black raspberry and boysenberry flavors that are lifted and sharpened by tangy acidity. Rich yet lithe Châteauneuf with strong finishing thrust and dusty tannins.

Bright ruby. Smoked meat, cherry pit, raspberry liqueur and pungent herbs on the highly perfumed nose. Offers intense, deeply pitched red fruit flavors that are lifted by suggestions of cracked pepper and minerals. The meaty quality returns on the finish, which is framed by dusty, chewy tannins.

Deep ruby. Wild, highly perfumed aromas of red fruit preserves, garrigue and smoky minerals, with a hint of cured meat in the background. Sappy and penetrating, offering lively raspberry and cherry flavors that become spicier with air. Silky tannins give shape to a strikingly long, fruity finish. This wine will likely not be released for at least another three years, perhaps more.

Henri Bonneau

This very old-school property makes the most unique Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wines are fantastically complex and Boneauu made it as it would have been produced 100 years ago in the commune, using methods that familiar to any of the 11 generations of vignerons in his family who preceded him.
