Note di degustazione
The 1998 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a curious follow-up to the successful 1997. Two or three bottles presented attractive scents of dried honey and yellow plum, although background diesel scents vary from bottle to bottle, lending a Germanic personality. The palate is quite rich on the entry, with hints of caramel and marzipan, and quite forward and rounded toward the finish. This seems to be developing more quickly than the previous vintage and should therefore be broached sooner. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at home.

Medium gold colored, the nose of the 1998 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a little tired and lifted with underlying citrus fruit preserves and baked apples notes plus oil skin and hazelnut wafts. There's quite a lot of rich, praline-laced fruit in the mouth with relatively low acid and a rich, seductive finish.
