Note di degustazione
Camarda's top wine, named Sorella in honor of his deceased sister, is typically one of the finest offerings out of Washington state. The 1999 Sorella is the finest wine Camarda has produced to date. Its red fruit-based aromatics display cherries, raspberries, and currants. It marvelously combines focus and delineation with density and exceptional amounts of fruit. Candied red cherries dominate this juicy, seamless, yet well-structured wine's personality. Its exemplary finish exhibits polished tannin and superb length. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2015. Tel. Bright, saturated medium ruby. Spicy aromas of black fruits, dark chocolate, apple, currant leaf, fresh herbs and licorice; slight suggestion of port. Then dense and very intensely flavored, with strong dark berry and chocolate flavors and perfectly integrated oak tones. Finishes very long and brisk, with substantial, somewhat youthfully aggressive tannins contributing to the wine sense of backbone and power. Grew increasingly sweet with extended aeration without losing its shape.
