Full bottle 1,358 g. From the restored vineyards of Schloss Eltz. As many plants were missing, a first part of the historic Eltz vineyard was replanted with Eva Fricke’s own mass-selection cuttings from her own oldest Krone vineyard in Lorch containing historic Riesling clones from around 1900. Biodynamically farmed but also part of a vitiforestry project. Certified organic (DE-ÖKO-022) and vegan. Gorgeous aroma of lime fruit combined with a marked floral note of honeysuckle, maybe even jasmine. Really quite exotic. Mouth-coatingly generous, balanced by crisp acidity. Sweet and caressing yeet finishes fresh. Extremely persistent. Needs time to evolve even though the balance is there already, as it should be. (JH)

The 2023 Eltville Collection Spätlese is clear and savory on the intense yet precise and lemony nose that represents the slate terroir as well as perfectly ripe Riesling fruit of the 2023 vintage. Lush and savory on the palate, this is a crystalline and saline, very stimulating Spätlese in the classic, grippy style that eats the sugar easily. The wine is straight, pure and salivating and absolutely gorgeous! 8% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August and again at home in early September 2024.
A mind-blowing riesling Spatlese, but not because it is luscious, rather because of the incredible Amalfi lemon freshness that lights this masterpiece up. The rich white peach fruit is exactly balanced by this, just as the racy acidity pushes the natural grape sweetness to the back of the palate, where it becomes a backdrop for the excitement at the front. Super-clean finish. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold.
