The 2017 Chablis Preuses Grand Cru is gracious and beautifully layered. It offers notable textural density, with a bit more richness than is the norm, even if today is clearly a wine of reserve more than anything else. Clean mineral notes extend the mid-palate and finish effortlessly.

The 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses is brilliant, bursting with aromas of mandarin oil, orange peel, dried white flowers, oyster shells and blanched almonds. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and satiny, its enveloping attack segueing into a deep, tight-knit core that displays striking cut and tension—built around considerable reserves of dry extract—before concluding with a searingly mineral finish.
The 2017 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru has a taut, spicy, curry-leaf tinged bouquet that opens with gusto after modest swirling of the glass. The palate is quite viscous and oily in texture (although that will be broken by the time it is bottled), with great depth and powerful, quite rich and opulent finish. This is the most heady of Patrick’s wines this year.
