Note di degustazione
Bright medium ruby. Pungent aromas of resin, pepper, game, chocolate and flowers, along with an exotic note of apricot. Broad, superripe and quite dry, with intriguing suggestions of dried herbs. In fact, this actually includes some muscat grapes, said Ehren Jordan. Finishes with huge tannins. (I will withhold judgment on the Rattlesnake Ridge Howell Mountain Petite Sirah, which showed a strong saline quality and finished with superb length but huge, drying tannins.)

Much softer, fleshier than the Turley Estate, and more to my liking was the 2006 Petite Sirah Library Vineyard. This is a beauty that has deep ruby/purple color and notes of violets intermixed with asphalt, blueberry, blackberry, and licorice. This wine should be more approachable than these other Petite Sirahs over the next 2-3 years, but last for at least two decades. (Not yet released) Tel. (707) 963-0940; Fax (707) 963-8683
