Based on 31% Syrah, 29% Grenache, 22% Graciano, and the rest Mourvèdre, the 2022 Heartstone is a ripe, round, velvety textured 2022 that has darker fruits as well as some savory flower, herbes de Provence, and peppery nuances. I love its overall balance, it has tons of character, ripe tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It’s relatively approachable even today yet will evolve for 15 years with ease.

The 2022 Heart Stone Vineyard is dark and rich in the glass, mixing plum sauce with violet pastille and confectionary spice. Ripe red and blue fruits sweep across the palate and slowly saturate, creating cheek-puckering tension toward the close. The finish has tremendous length and structure, leaving nuances of dark chocolate and a bitter tinge of clove framed by sweet tannins.
