Knockout botrytis aromas of apricot, peach and honey. Olivier used about 25% healthy grapes to keep this wine from getting too sticky. A magical combination of warm, candied fruits and botrytis tang, with the flavors given grip and vibrancy by 10.5 g/l acidity. Incredible concentration and richness, not to mention persistence. An SGN of great verve; approachable today thanks to its extraordinary fruit. After admitting that in years past he tended to go for record must weights, Olivier says he now draws the line at 23%-25% potential alcohol—"otherwise the wine is undrinkable for the first 50 years."
