Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2025-2035, Jeb Dunnuck, Jun 2025

The 2010 Château Tronquoy is solid, with mature currant fruits as well as tobacco, truffly earth, and cedar pencil nuances. It's nicely balanced, medium-bodied, and ready to go. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 10% Petit Verdot that was brought up in one-third new barrels. Drink 2025-2035.

Fennel, chocolate, liquorice, this is great quality and has decades ahead, although more closed right now than the 2009. Liquorice, cocoa bean, espresso and blackberry puree, great enjoyment lies ahead, but for now stick with opening its neighbouring vintage.

The 2010 Tronquoy-Lalande seems to have a very reductive nose that does not quite “spread its arms” with aeration. It gradually improves with black cherries, boysenberry, freshly tilled soil and woodland aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite dense and harmonious, clearly more expressive than the aromatics with a well defined, slightly peppery finish. Fine. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal.

Deep garnet colored, the 2010 Tronquoy-Lalande bursts from the glass with bold scents of baked plums, mulberries and crème de cassis plus suggestions of chocolate box, dried roses and fallen leaves. Full-bodied, the palate has a solid line of ripe, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness supporting the muscular fruit, finishing long and mineral-laced.
