Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2014-2029, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Jun 2014

The 2010 Uriah Wahluke Slope checks in as a blend of 46% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon. A beautiful wine that excels for its classy, balanced and structured feel, it gives up plenty of plum, black cherry, licorice, dusty soil and dark chocolate-like aromas and flavors that flow perfectly to a medium to full-bodied, elegant and layered feel on the palate. Seeing 21 months in 65% new French oak, it’s a smoking Washington State Bordeaux blend about 15 years or more of longevity. I loved these latest releases from Spring Valley vineyard. They all show classic, elegant and balanced profiles that will evolve gracefully. These wines are not blockbusters and come across as slightly restrained at first, yet they blossom with time in the glass and are highly recommended. Tel. (46% merlot, 40% cabernet franc, 6% petit verdot, 5% cabernet sauvignon and 3% malbec): Good deep red-ruby. Musky aromas of raspberry, sassafras, cola, mocha and licorice. A bit liqueur-like in the mouth, but with good juicy intensity to the smooth flavors of cherry, redcurrant and burnished oak. Finishes with a medicinal suggestion of menthol and a firm tannic spine.
