Silky on entry, then supple and energetic in the mid-palate, with pristine red fruit flavors supported by a stony underpinning. Finishes saline and persistent, with its 50% new oak showing today. "Oxygen has done wonders for this wine," noted van Canneyt, adding that the rest of the 2013s need air. He planned to rack them into cuves not long after my visit and bottle in January.
