The blockbuster 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and 100% from Mt. Veeder. This is magnificent, with blue and black fruits galore, a dense, opaque purple color, and notes of creamy oak interwoven with enormous quantities of highly extracted fruit and velvety tannins in a voluptuously textured, multi-layered stunner. This wine still shows plenty of grip and tannin, so give it 2-3 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 30 years. This is a big-time winner.
A great example of Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon, O'Shaughnessy's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder offers compelling nuance and pure power. The flavors are bright, vibrant and beautifully focused throughout. Sweet floral and spice notes add aromatic intrigue, but above all else, the 2014 is a wine of textural richness. This is a great example of the vintage. (AG)
Unfortunately, neither bottle I tasted of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder was perfect. One was corked, and the second was musty. Readers who own the 2013 will want to check in on it at their earliest opportunity.
