2016 Charles Smith Wines Riesling Kung Fu Girl

(from Evergreen Vineyard): Pale, bright yellow. Peachy fruit salad, dusty brown spices and a hint of caraway seed on the nose. A moderately sweet fruit bomb on the palate, with generous stone fruit and spice flavors and enough Riesling acidity to maintain energy and shape. Finishes dusty, firm and fairly dry, with good lift and persistence. Not a complex wine but altogether too easy to gulp down. After the 2016 harvest, Charles Smith sold this hugely successful brand (as well as the Charles Smith Wines brand name) to Constellation Brands. But Smith continues to be in charge of making Kung Fu Girl Riesling, Boom Boom! Syrah, Chateau Smith Cabernet Sauvignon, Eve Chardonnay and The Velvet Devil Merlot.
