Note di degustazione
A supple, sensual wine that's drinking well earlier even than I predicted a few years ago, Fourrier's 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes bursts with aromas of sweet red berries, peonies, spices and orange rind, followed by a medium-bodied, ample and fleshy palate. With an ample core of fruit, succulent acids and melting tannins, it's no crime to open bottles today.

Close to Clos de Bèze. Close planted in 1940. 12,000 vines/ha. Dark and peppery on the nose. Dark-suited and elegant. Extreme finesse in the texture here. Light bodied and super-refined, sylph-like and long. Floating elegance on the finish. So fine there’s no grain – like layers of paper. (JH)
The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes 1er Cru already has a cohesive, quite intense bouquet with violet petals that infuse the blueberry and black cherry fruit, just a hint of vanilla from the wood that will be assimilated by the time of bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with a sorbet-like freshness. There is plenty of blood orange towards the structured finish that feels precise and mineral-driven. Excellent.
