The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals heady aromas of berry fruit liqueur, eau de vie and barrel toast, followed by a rich, medium to full-bodied palate that combines ripe flavors and perceptibly high octane with firm, chewy tannins and surprisingly bright acids. The overall impression isn't well-balanced. It's a ripe, characterful wine if you can overlook those flaws. 2,577 cases were produced—almost three times the quantity produced less than a decade ago.

The straight 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (there’s 2% Malbec in the blend) comes from Walla Walla Valley and was brought up in 85% new French oak. This opaque purple-colored beauty offers terrific black currant and cassis-like fruit intermixed with classic tobacco leaf, damp earth, and crushed flower aromas and flavors. Rich, full-bodied, and elegant, with a seamless texture that carries plenty of sweet tannins, give bottles 2-4 years in the cellar and it's going to keep for another 15-20 years. It's a beautiful, impeccably made wine.
(14.4% alcohol): Bright medium ruby. Rich, tangy aromas of cassis, bitter chocolate, spicecake and black pepper. Tightly wound, savory wine with terrific peppery energy to its flavors of cassis, boysenberry and wild herbs. Lovely vibrant Cabernet with a restrained sweetness and a powerful spine for extended aging, but still quite youthfully imploded and in need of time in bottle to expand. Finishes with superb rising length.
