Note di degustazione
The 2014 Pinot Noir Altamont, from red soils at the hilltops of the estate, shows a darker and more powerful side of the property. Dark cherry, plum, leather, smoke and deeply spiced notes all flesh out, but it is the wine's breath and overall texture that are most distinctive. A dollop of whole clusters (10%) adds lovely nuance throughout. Over the last few years, Eva Dehlinger has introduced puncheons into the aging regime for the Altamont.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Altamont is a bit more dense than it usually is, and also not that differentiated from the Goldridge, especially at this stage. Today, the Altamont is almost primary in its intensity and raw power. There is more than enough depth and potential to make me think all the Altamont needs is time to fully come together.
